Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology
McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking a board-certified Breast Imager for a faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor and Division Chief in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging. McGovern Medical School primarily provides imaging services at Memorial Hermann Hospital (MMH)-Texas Medical Center and Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. The Breast Imaging Section performs mammograms, breast ultrasound, MRI, image-guided breast biopsies, and wire localizations. The Breast Imaging section faculty performs approximately 26,444 examinations and procedures per year. This position requires clinical patient care and teaching of our residents and medical students.
The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to educate health science professionals and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services.
The ideal candidate for the Chief position will be an Associate or Full Professor with demonstrated experience and skill in leading academic programs and a commitment to excellence, discovery and service along with a track record of achievement in their field of expertise. Expertise in managing a breast imaging clinical practice will ideally support current division programs and department goals.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The faculty in the division of Breast Imaging in the Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging will provide direct patient care, supervision, and teaching of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings.
Qualifications:
- Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
- AGME-accredited Radiology residency program (or equivalent).
- Fellowship training in Breast Imaging
- ABR certified or ABR eligible.
The candidate must provide the required documentation and ability to perform screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast biopsies and localizations.
