- Chief Medical Officer - Primary Care

The Role
We’re looking for a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Primary Care—a hands-on leader who can balance system-level vision with frontline care. This role reports to the Director of Primary Care and works across clinics, hospitals, and programs to ensure our providers deliver consistent, high-quality, and equitable care.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support Primary Care medical directors and providers.
- Standardize workflows, policies, and clinical guidelines across health centers.
- Drive quality improvement and apply LEAN principles to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Provide clinical consultation and supervision to physicians, NPs, and PAs.
- Represent Primary Care in system committees, union negotiations, and credentialing processes.
- Carry a small patient panel to stay connected to frontline practice.
- Step in for the Primary Care Director when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current valid California license issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California*
- Current valid Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics.
- Three (3) years of post-residency experience as a practicing physician in the respective medical specialty area.
One (1) year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a forty (40) hour work week).
*Applicants possessing a valid license to practice medicine issued from another state within the United States of America may apply, but if selected, the candidate will NOT be appointed/hired until they obtain a valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.
